This paper is a study of 'Digital Minhwa', which reproduces the life and loyalty of the historical figure Song Sang-Hyun in the form of Chaekado. Minhwa is a form of painting that expresses the simple wishes and aspirations of our ancestors. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of the modern transformation by reinterpreting 'Chaekado', a type of traditional Minhwa, with modern media and a modern perspective, linking it with one's creation. The research development starts by examining the classification method and offering a discussion of traditional Korean painting as currently presented in the academic world and examining the definition of 'Minhwa'. Second, the origin and historical transformation of Chaekado, a type of Minhwa, are examined while focusing on literature. Thirdly, the study analyzes how Minhwa has been reproduced as modern art by examining the works of six artists. Fourth, by analyzing the historical records related to Song Sang-Hyun, the subject of Korean analysis, we derive a keyword that is in line with his life. Additionally, we examine how key themes are portrayed in the iconography of Minhwa during the Joseon Dynasty. Finally, we create a type of Minhwa of Song Sang-Hyun’s Chaekado in a contemporary composition and color scheme using objects related to key events in Song Sang-Hyun’s life. The expression style is 'Chaekgado', a symbol of Confucian liberalism in the Joseon Dynasty, which was widely loved by not only noblemen but also by the people. Through previous literary research, Song Sang-Hyun's digital bookshelf was modernized with icons symbolizing his loyalty and the Seonbi spirit. The hierarchical arrangement of each icon is created based on the researcher's literary analysis. It should be noted that this study was conducted as practice-based research, in which the researcher conducted a literature survey on Minhwa and Chaekado, and based on this, created her work.
